Paspahegh Massacre. Virginia’s Lord De la Warr sends 70 colonists to attack the Paspahegh Indians living in their village near Jamestown, killing between 16 and 65 people. The wife and children of the village chief are captured, tortured, and executed (“List of Indian massacres”).
